Core values are the underlying connective thread across all aspects of a business. They should be aligned to what your mission is and how you want to treat people. When a company has a strong values system it allows them to operate as a cohesive unit, all focused on the same goal for the same reason and with the same intentions. A company must live its values both internally and externally. How teams and colleagues work together, how management makes decisions, how marketing and sales build their strategies, how clients are treated and looked after and even how those who don’t become clients are treated and looked after. In this week’s Insight we look at the five core values of Bigmore Associates, how we show them in the way we work with our clients and, importantly, how we show them with the people we don’t take on as clients. My latest article explores the topic of cultural integration in M&A, spotlighting the example of Babble under Matthew Parker. Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting virtually and hearing from Aleen Keshishian, founder and CEO of Lighthouse Management & Media, a former protégé of the legendary ICM agent Sam Cohn. From her very first signing, an 11-year-old Natalie Portman, Aleen showed an early knack for spotting talent. Today, she represents some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Selena Gomez, Jesse Peretz and Olivia Rodrigo. Aleen has also made significant strides in the branding and endorsement space, and her work in documentaries has secured massive deals for her clients. ??
