Our recent encounter with the Lumitester Smart, an iF DESIGN AWARD 2021 winner, was a revelation in the efficacy of BioZone's advanced PhotoPlasma? technology for both air and surface disinfection. Eager to witness its capabilities firsthand, we initiated a test within the challenging confines of a car interior. The initial RLU (Relative Light Unit) reading was a concerning 20,000. After activating the MobiZone device, we saw a dramatic reduction to 4,795 RLU in just 25 minutes - a testament to the technology's potency, reducing contamination by nearly 75%. This experience was not just about numbers; it was about witnessing a transformative technology in action. We met with Alexander Prill, Director Business Development & Cooperations at LANG AG and discussed three LED products, one 0.9mm product, looking at the pixel pitch a realistic size would be 150” in native 4k resolution. This might exceed possibilities on a yacht except for the mega Superyachts, but might be interesting for residential and other applications (or for those, who do go for the biggest). The second product is the deployable transparent LED in 3mm and 6mm, which can be glued on any transparent surface or even, as shown on their booth, just suspended w/o any carrier material, avoiding all grids of the traditional “transparent” LED products. From the outside it shows bright colourful LED pictures and effects, but from the inside it is almost invisible. This product is currently hyped in fashion shows, but consider the potential for yachts, particularly when it comes to flexibility and ease of storage. Finally, we saw a 1.9mm (outdoor) product with high brightness and therefore a fantastic solution for indoor or outdoor yacht applications. With the luminosity, it is perfect to withstand sunny ambient light and also to show extraordinary HDR content. At the same time being sealed, it will resist sea-salted humidity, which can never be completely avoided on a yacht. So electrical contacts are already protected w/o having to do custom-made solutions to enjoy nice pictures even years after installation. An essential function of car park lighting is to make users feel safe - but poor lighting control can have the opposite effect. Lighting motion detection can result in luminaires switching on and off abruptly as a person moves past them, which can be distracting and unnerving. Thorlux Motionline is a wireless connection between SmartScan luminaires, creating control groups. If any single luminaire detects movement, all the connected luminaires within the group will illuminate together. This valuable feature eliminates the possibility of isolating a user in a small pool of light surrounded by intimidating darkness. Motionline ensures that there will always be a well-lit, comfortable environment while there is activity in the area. Once the last person leaves, the luminaire waits for a pre-programmed period before dimming and then turning off or remaining at a pre-defined level. #thorlux #smartscan #safety #carpark #motionline
