At JCAT- Correlating MRI ADC values with Ki-67 Expression in Rectal Cancer

Excited to share our latest original paper, "Significance of Image Reconstruction Parameters for Future Lung Cancer Risk Prediction Using Low-Dose Chest Computed Tomography and the Open-Access Sybil Algorithm," published in Investigative Radiology. Our study focuses on Sybil, a deep-learning algorithm that accurately predicts lung cancer risk from a single low-dose CT scan. We explored how different image reconstruction parameters (like filter type and slice thickness) and CT scanner manufacturers impact Sybil’s predictive performance. The results validate Sybil’s adaptability, making it a promising tool for lung cancer risk prediction regardless of technical variations in CT imaging. This could pave the way for more widespread, reliable lung cancer screening. Exciting AI clinical research in the latest publication from Radiology: Imaging Cancer. A recent study from the Department of Radiology at St. Francis Hospital, Vienna, Austria, compared two leading AI platforms for breast cancer detection using digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). In the study, ProFound AI achieved an impressive Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) of 0.93, significantly outperforming the other AI platform. particularly in patients with non-dense breasts. These findings underscore the clinical value of ProFound AI in enhancing breast cancer detection. AI's Groundbreaking Role in Early Breast Cancer Detection One of the most promising applications of AI in radiology is its ability to detect breast cancer earlier than human radiologists. The image below, courtesy of DeepHealth, illustrates this potential: A woman underwent annual mammogram screenings. In Year 1, the radiologist did not detect any abnormalities. However, in Year 2, the radiologist identified a cancerous tumor. When the same images were analyzed by an AI system, it successfully detected the cancer in the Year 1 mammogram – a full year earlier than the human expert. This case demonstrates how AI could significantly improve early detection rates, potentially leading to higher recovery rates and better patient outcomes in breast cancer treatment.
