Look at the center image- the revit model shows the lights, windows, blaconies, even the piano on the stage. The images are the actual size of the fixtures. The detail allows for determining how new improvements fit. Using the revit model you can look inside from the exterior too, check out the lower two images. At coombes:everitt architects Limited, we have been designing fully-compliant Part O homes since the introduction of the regulations in June 2022 – experience has shown us that early consideration – ideally as early as RIBA Stage 1 or 2 – is key to success. If not considered early in the design process, this can create the need for additional changes further down the line which can increase the risk of time delays, and additional expense, as well as retrospective changes which may compromise the original design objectives. Part O aims to reduce the risk of overheating in new build developments and encourage the design and construction of buildings that limit unwanted solar gain during the summer months and provide occupants with adequate means of removing excess heat from indoor environments. Architects Questions Answered – EQUITONE/Building Safety Act Admittedly, I spend a lot of my time with Architects discussing Aesthetics, Texture, Finish and Colour of our EQUITONE materials, and why wouldn’t I? In my humble (unbiased) opinion our material is incredible from a visual perspective. However, after a meeting yesterday it dawned on me, the recent Building Safely Act updates have raised several technical/practical questions in the industry, so I thought I would spend a little time addressing the most frequently asked... Question 1 – Fire Safety Q – What is EQUITONE’s fire rating and is it compliant from a Building Regulations perspective A – Our fire rating is A2 (A2 S1 d0) which is compliant with the current building regulations including HRB (High Risk Buildings) 3rd Party Certifications available on request. Question 2 – Technical & Support Services Q – Do you offer support at the early stages of a scheme and if so, what does that look like? A – Absolutely, We understand that being involved as early as possible ensures a fit for purpose solution so focus a lot of our time and support IN the early stages of a scheme. We are here to help with Technical Enquires, CAD detailing, material optimisation even at RIBA Stage 2/3 all the way through to completion. All of our materials are also available on NBS Source and Chorus?where you will find up to date technical details and 3rd party certifications ensuring robust digital record keeping. Question 3 – Durability/Life Expectancy Q – Is your material robust and how long should we expect it to last? A – EQUITONE Material is a high-density fibre cement material and has a life expectancy in excess of 30 years as per our BBA document, many of our materials are Category 1 impact resistant (EAD 090062-00-0404) What’s more, EQUITONE materials are high density & through colour so less susceptible to scratches and marks in high traffic areas.
