True connection is the only way to a change for the better. But, in order for that to happen, we have to first #OpenUp. With our platform #OpenUp, we started social discussion on the challenges we face as a society and called for openness, understanding, tolerance and true connection. Today I am happy to proudly share that the new generation has joined in, through the young artists Young Dadi, Matej Foltz and Zee Bomb, who created a joint project called “Mesto”. Their song, inspired by our initiative #OpenUp, is a call to their whole generation to overcome the challenges, differences and tensions they face through a newly found sense of belonging and communality. Or, as Young Dadi put it during the song promotion: “Our generation lives with the old problems in tension, insecure times and in a world full of noises and differences. These things divide us, make us lose trust and contact with ourselves and with others. This is why we did this project, because we want to initiate change through it. A change that starts from ourselves, from a fresh perspective, from the openness of our minds and hearts, in order to see what connects us, because there’s more of that than what divides us.” #telekom_mk #НаправиМесто

Re:Imagine - running the 'Re:Imagine Lab' project whose goal is to empower young Malawian professionals to lead the transformation of neighborhoods starting with Lilongwe City Centre. Their aim is to create inclusive and sustainable urban public spaces driven by the innovative ideas, technology and perspectives of Malawian youth. Rydberg Starck Limited - experts in creating innovative digital solutions from software development to mobile applications, and innovative hardware solutions that shape a smarter future. Muuni Fund Mw - an ICT research and innovation fund established under the Malawi Regulatory Communications Authority (MACRA). Their aim is to provide financial aid to individuals across Malawi with eligible research and innovative projects/ideas. The fund aims to empower individual growth as well as contribute to the technological advancement in the country's various socio-economic sectors. MicroMek - a Malawian based hardware startup, locally developing low cost autonomous fixed wing drones for delivery of medical diagnostics in the hard to reach areas of Malawi and Africa, and for environmental monitoring. ? Fun Fact: 4 of these initiatives are youth-led and were founded by UNLEASH Alumni. We love seeing youth at the center of innovation, the future is looking bright for Malawi. Participating in the ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator program marked a pivotal chapter in VeendHQ (Techstars '23)'s journey. As a startup committed to providing on-demand credit to borrowers with verifiable income, the insights and guidance received during the program have been invaluable. Over the course of the program, we had the privilege of engaging with 80 mentors, EIR and Investors, a diverse group of professionals spanning various industries. These interactions were not just meetings but deep-dive sessions that challenged our assumptions, refined our business model, and enhanced our value proposition. Each mentor, EIR and Investor brought a unique perspective, offering tailored advice that resonated with our mission and vision. This rich mentorship experience helped us to critically analyze our approach towards credit delivery, understand the nuances of financial inclusion, and explore innovative ways to serve our customers better. The variety of backgrounds and expertise among our mentors provided us with a well-rounded view of the challenges and opportunities in our sector. The ARM Lab Techstars Lagos accelerator program didn't just offer us a platform to grow; it provided a community and a network that supports our vision of making credit accessible. As we move forward, the lessons learned and the connections made during this program will continue to influence our path towards creating impactful financial solutions for Africa.
