LRK Principal Nando Micale, FAIA AICP PP recently hosted a group of architecture students from Universidad de Los Andes (UniAndes) in Bogotá, Colombia, as part of his Urban Design Capstone Studio at University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design. The master’s-level studio explores urban resilience, specifically in response to projections that a 4- to 6-foot rise in sea levels by the year 2100 could submerge a two-mile stretch of the Delaware River waterfront district and expose surrounding neighborhoods to frequent flooding. Nando co-leads the studio alongside Nathaniel Echeverria of the international non-profit Resilient Cities Network.
