BE HUMANE ! Humanity, a complex and intricate tapestry Woven with threads of compassion and empathy A species capable of great love and kindness Yet also capable of cruelty and blindness In a world filled with division and strife It is up to us to choose the path of life To embrace our shared humanity And strive for a world of unity We are all connected, inextricably linked By the common thread of being human, I think No matter our differences, we are all the same In our desire for love, and to end suffering and pain Let us look beyond our own narrow view And see the world from a different hue To walk in another's shoes, to feel their pain And in doing so, our hearts will gain A deeper understanding of our fellow man And the struggles they face, the best we can To lend a helping hand, to offer support To stand together, in a world so fraught With challenges and obstacles, we must overcome But together, we can achieve great things, as one For humanity is a force to be reckoned with When we come together, our spirits lift So let us put aside our differences and unite In the fight for justice, for what is right To stand up for those who cannot speak To be a voice for the voiceless, the meek For in the end, it is our humanity That will guide us towards a brighter destiny A world where love and compassion reign And humanity's potential is not in vain So let us embrace our shared humanity And work towards a world of unity For in the end, it is our humanity That will lead us towards a brighter tomorrow. As we witness the unfolding of a genocide, standing by in silence is not an option. To remain silent in the face of such atrocity is to be complicit in the darkest chapters of history. The decision to stand up, to raise our voices for what's right, is not just an act of courage—it's a fundamental duty. The silence of good people, the inaction in the face of grave injustice, gives strength to the forces we strive against. Let's remember, the world is shaped not only by the actions of those who seek to disrupt peace and equality but also by those who choose to stand by, silently. Our legacy will be determined by how we respond to these moments of moral crisis. Let’s embrace the power we hold—the power to speak, to act, to change the course of history. Together, we can ensure that the future will not be defined by what we did not do, but by what we stood up for, what we spoke out against, and the actions we took to forge a better world.

International Day of Living Together in Peace is celebrated on May 16th every year to promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding, and solidarity among all individuals and communities. This day aims to highlight the importance of living together in harmony and embracing diversity as a source of richness and strength. Living together in peace is essential for the well-being and progress of society. It requires mutual respect, acceptance, and understanding of different cultures, religions, and beliefs. By fostering a culture of peace and non-violence, we can create a more inclusive and harmonious world where everyone can coexist peacefully. As individuals, we can contribute to promoting peace by embracing diversity, practicing empathy and compassion, resolving conflicts peacefully, and standing up against discrimination and prejudice. By working together towards a common goal of peace and harmony, we can build a more just and sustainable world for future generations. In conclusion, International Day of Living Together in Peace serves as a reminder of the importance of unity, respect, and understanding in creating a peaceful world for all. Let us strive to live together in peace and harmony, embracing our differences and celebrating our common humanity.

Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways.

Interesting and timely article. The cost of self-censoring and silence is greater in the long run than embracing our right to lawful free speech while we still can.

Hope is a destination. It’s not a natural state for us to exist in most days. It requires a belief in something greater than ourselves across the street from where we currently stand. It’s a many-splendoured thing, ripe with the colours of our different worldviews, experiences, and beliefs.
