I would love to see a flight attendant confidently standing by with a fire extinguisher. I am really worried that a major accident could occur one day due to improper implementation of CPR and firefighting techniques. It is crucial for every cabin crew member to be well-versed in using fire extinguishers and ensuring they are easily reachable and accessible. Practical live demonstrations help ensure that attendants can handle emergencies calmly and efficiently. It's important to remember that water can be used to extinguish specific fires, such as Class A fires, but it could aggravate the situation in cases of liquid and gas fires. Level 4 disruptive/unruly passengers pose a severe threat to our industry. I would be satisfied if airlines took every possible proactive measure to prevent such occurrences! The other serious issue here is how the passenger managed to board with a prohibited item such as a lighter. Are the lax security(dirty) airports still in existence, or what? For me, since someone can board an aircraft with a lighter, someone else can board with a bomb. AVSEC experts have to be careful; such incidents could be only the tip of a huge iceberg.
