My name is Alexia King and I'm the Program Impact Manager at She Built This City. You don't have to know everything about the trades in order to pursue them. One of the best parts about a skilled trades career is that you have the opportunity to learn and earn as you are getting to know about the skilled trades. So whereas in other areas of life, right, we pay to get the education and then have to prove ourselves in that industry with the skilled trades, you need to come up and show up on time with some of those soft skills in order to maintain and keep your job. And then they're going to teach you the things that you need to learn. You're going to learn about the carpentry, you going to learn about the electrical, you're going to learn the terminology, but you just got to show up and show out.
