I hate to be cynical (But after all, I am from NY! ?? ) I do appreciate the Dept of Ed's help. All help is welcome but..... This support would not be implemented if the ISIRs were delivered on time. Unless they are going to sit in the office and complete the award letters, I doubt these strategies will be helpful. FAFSA Alert: As of May 6, 2024, 36% of the total number of seniors expected to graduate in the WA high school class of 2024 have completed their FAFSA, according to Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC)'s FAFSA Completion Dashboard. Why does this matter? Data from the National College Attainment Network (NCAN) shows that seniors who complete their FAFSA are 84% more likely to immediately enroll in postsecondary education. ?? For those with graduating high school seniors, I feel for you! The glitches and delays that have been caused by this year's new FAFSA have put lots of stress on the students, their families and the individual colleges. In an effort to speed up the process, College Financial Prep suggests the following: * Contact the individual colleges' financial aid offices to see if they are now accepting the CSS Profile or another financial aid application, that may be processed quicker than FAFSA. (If you have already submitted the CSS Profile to the college, then no need to call!)
