Check this out. A jet fighter helmet - the Gen 3 HMDS used by pilots of the F-35 Lightning II, is a $400,000 piece of tech that takes situational awareness to the next level. —---- What makes this helmet remarkable is its ability to create a full 360-degree field of vision using six external cameras mounted on the plane. These cameras feed into the helmet’s visor, allowing the pilot to "see through" the aircraft – making it almost transparent. Whether looking down at the ground or around the plane, pilots can access a stitched-together AR display that provides unobstructed views in every direction. It’s a wearable computer that ensures the pilot’s movements are informed and precise. A true glimpse into the future of AR and wearable tech. It really is the integration of human and machine. The Ojo-Yoshida Report’s latest article on NHTSA’s Automatic Emergency Braking (#AEB) mandate highlights how #Ambarella is leading the charge to help automotive OEMs comply, by driving the future of software-defined sensors! Junko Yoshida writes: “Ambarella is offering a far more aggressive path to software-defined sensors for OEMs. Ambarella’s key is its CV3-AD, a family of SoCs that enables centralized, single-chip processing for multi-sensor perception, including high-resolution vision, radar, and ultrasonic, as well as deep fusion for multiple sensor modalities and AV path planning.” Read Junko’s article here: https://bit.ly/4ewUPlv #NHTSA #AIenvisioned #Radar #Automotive #LiDAR #ADAS #Sensors #Technology #Innovation

Subject: Revolutionizing Defense with VR-Controlled , I’m reaching out with an innovative proposal to advance military operations through VR-controlled robots. By combining cutting-edge robotics with immersive VR technology, soldiers will be able to remotely operate robots in real-time, navigating, engaging, and making decisions as if they were physically present in the field. Key Benefits: ? Safety: Remote control of robots reduces risks to soldiers in high-risk environments. ? Immersive Control: VR offers real-time, intuitive control for precise actions and better situational awareness. ? Versatility: The robots can be used for a wide range of military tasks, including reconnaissance, bomb disposal, and combat. ? Next-Gen Technology: Leveraging 5G and low-latency networks, we can achieve smooth, uninterrupted connections for real-time operation. This project represents the future of defense technology, where VR and robotics come together to enhance operational efficiency, save lives, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. We would love to discuss how we can collaborate to bring this vision to life.

?? Didn't we already have AEB figured out? The NHTSA's new, stricter #AEB regulations are making us rethink the effectiveness of traditional camera and radar systems. Industry experts were intrigued by the NHTSA's claim that "AEB systems can meet the new standards mostly with upgraded software, with only a few vehicles needing additional hardware." Pierrick BOULAY, a senior analyst at Yole Group, raised a crucial point: Can these AEB systems reliably detect a pedestrian in the dark? This brings to light the need for more advanced radar in the sensor suite. I was very glad to see which specific next get radar was mentioned ?? https://lnkd.in/db-rqK3T

According to a GHSA report, over 7,300 pedestrians were killed by drivers last year – a 14% increase from pre-pandemic levels. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is one developing area of ADAS that may be able to help mitigate these trends. Teledyne FLIR is taking a new approach to AEB by adding thermal imaging. With NHTSA’s new FMVSS No. 127 rule set to mandate AEB systems in vehicles by 2029, VSI Labs and Teledyne FLIR are exploring advanced thermal nighttime testing protocols. Join us during #PedestrianSafetyMonth on October 16th for a virtual panel with Mike Walters of Teledyne FLIR and Phil Magney of VSI. They’ll share insights from their recent testing, explore the current state of AEB, and discuss how thermal cameras could improve road safety for everyone. Register at https://lnkd.in/gwrcpsQz

In the race to be the first to fly from Sydney to London in just a couple of hours, Australia might be the winner. But it’s unlikely to happen for a while yet, according to Dr Michael Smart, co-founder and chief technology officer of Sydney-based Hypersonix Launch Systems. His company is taking baby steps towards that goal, starting with a contract from the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit for the HYCAT, or Hypersonic High-Cadence Airborne Testing, program to simply test lots of hypersonic sensors and navigation systems – and do so quickly. Hypersonic speeds are greater than Mach 5. The Hypersonix DART platform which will be used in the HYCAT program will fly up to 1000km at Mach 7, or for less than seven minutes. https://lnkd.in/gPvQ-Pt5
