Yesterday, Miami-Dade County held its final FY 2024-2025 Budget Hearing. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava reaffirmed her commitment to the arts, reallocating funds to address public priorities. Thanks to the advocacy of civic, business, and cultural leaders, $1.5 million was restored to the Department of Cultural Affairs grants, with a private sector campaign raising an additional $400,000. Special thanks to the Mayor, Commissioners, and all who championed the arts. We're excited for the new cultural season ahead and remain committed to supporting Miami-Dade’s vibrant arts community! It was inspiring to see our team, engage their civic duties, and show up as advocates for the arts at the first County Budget Hearing for the upcoming fiscal year. We were the first of 11 speakers—setting the tone with compelling, eloquent statements to let our county commissioners and mayor know: the arts matter and contribute, at large, to vitality of Miami-Dade county. ?? It was powerful to see so many other advocates and leaders from our creative ecosystem there like City Theatre Miami and Rosie Gordon-Wallace—rallying together. ?? It’s not over yet.
