Last night I attended a presentation by Graeme Codrington and Buhle Dlamini. They were talking about "Creating High Performing Organisations of the Future" and it was an eye-opener on how technology could reshape our workspaces in the most positive, people-friendly way possible. Graeme Codrington took a zoomed out view of the history of Industrial Revolutions, querying whether #IR4 is really about new tech, or rather about innovating new business models based on the new tech, and reimagining the world we live in with that tech baked in at it's core. Buhle Dlamini highlighted the criticality of #InclusiveDiversity and noted that new inclusivity looks like incorporating tech-enabled office assistants into our workforce in order to do more of what humans are uniquely placed to do. The team at TomorrowToday Global drove home the magical force of wonder as a marker for achievement in the future of work. Some of my key takeaways: ?? We're living through exciting times of change, but we must stay grounded. We're living through a similar era to the second Industrial Revolution, when the new tech of the day became incorporated into business models. Today, the new tech we're grappling with happens to be AI (or is it IA:Intelligent Assistance?), robotics, and IoT innovations, businesses now need to be reimagined. ?? According to TomorrowToday Global, the future is about Bionic Organisations: where smart tech enhances people and processes, businesses thrive, and the focus is on doing good. It's not about automation for automation's sake—it's about human-machine partnerships to build a better world. ???? Human-centric leadership is key: leveraging diversity, fostering brave explorers (and data detectives!) and shifting from extracting the most to unlocking the best in people. Meanwhile, IA (Intelligent Assistance) supports innovation by doing the heavy lifting. ???? South Africa’s diversity gives us a competitive edge in this new landscape, and tech is more than a tool—it’s part of the team. ?? The future of work isn't just about technology; it's about reimagining what’s possible and finding solutions to the big challenges ahead. Thanks to Mark Sham from Suits & Sneakers for giving space to great ideas. #Innovation #Leadership #FutureOfWork #AI #BionicBusiness #TomorrowToday #Tech
