Hudson, a New Jersey puggle, has at least 12 bladder stones that are causing him to urinate blood, have accidents in the home, and his abdomen is swollen and tender to the touch. Poor Hudson is suffering, and despite being on a special diet to dissolve his stones, they persist. A Cystotomy procedure is now essential to safely remove the stones and bring him relief. Surgery costs are estimated to be between $2,188.29 and $2,458.45. Unfortunately, Hudson's elderly parents cannot afford it. Hudson's mother is disabled, and his father works as a school bus driver to supplement their income. Both Hudson and his furry friend Flash require expensive prescription diets. Recently, Flash was diagnosed with Kidney disease, adding to the financial strain due to the costs of specialized food and diagnostic testing for both pets. This situation has plunged his parents into a financial crisis, making a surgery expense of this magnitude unattainable. ?? Hudson’s mom said, “Hudson is an important member of our family. He is sweet, lovable, very smart, and photogenic. He can do many tricks for treats - sit, paw, lay down, speak, roll over, crawl, dance, stay, come, and play his toy piano. We love him very much and hope you can help us with his surgery needs.“ Without this surgery, the stones could migrate and cause a life-threatening urinary obstruction in Hudson’s urethra. Day 23 of the #50Families50Days Campaign $1,800 for Cranial Helmet for Premature Twins. Twin boys, Matthew, and Michael Ellison, were born prematurely with severely misshapen skulls, necessitating the use of cranial helmets to effectively reshape their skulls and prevent potential future medical conditions. Each child required a helmet, costing $1,800 each. Task Force Dagger and TDF covered the expenses for these helmets. The boys' cranial specialist provided prescriptions and detailed information for the devices, believing that the helmets could avoid the need for potentially dangerous surgery, which would still require the use of the devices post-surgery. Matthew and Michael were born prematurely, with one hospitalized for about a month after birth due to serious health issues. Both boys were thriving and relatively healthy, but their skull deformities were attributed to their physical position in the womb and premature birth, which hindered full development. TRICARE would not cover the expense since they only provide coverage after corrective surgery. The physician believed it was safer to avoid surgery and use the helmets to align the boys' skulls properly. ??T-REX, a handsome tuxedo kitty from Minnesota, has been battling a stubborn bladder stone for several months. Despite medications and following a prescription diet designed to dissolve bladder stones, T-Rex stone has grown, causing him discomfort, and it puts him at a higher risk for a life-threatening urethral obstruction. ?? The only practical course of treatment at this point is to perform a cystotomy procedure and extract the stone. Removing the stone will alleviate T-Rex’s pain and possibly save his life. If the stone becomes dislodged, it could enter the urinary tract and become stuck, blocking his urethra. T-Rex is only five years old; this surgery will be life-changing. The surgery costs between $1217.28 and $1461.30, but sadly, T-Rex's family cannot afford it. While Dad's paycheck currently covers their daily expenses, making ends meet is becoming increasingly challenging due to the rising inflation rate. An additional expense like this would push them further into debt. ?? T-Rex’s mom said, “He is such an amazing and sweet cat. He is so great with the kids; our other cats adore him! We can't imagine our life without him.” Most cats live a long, healthy life after bladder stone removal surgery. However, bladder stones can recur, so the stone will be sent to the laboratory to determine what type it is and the course of medications and prescription food T-Rex will need to prevent another stone in the future. A charity based in Harrogate has offered vulnerable people free dental care, after poor access to NHS dental services had left people with life-threatening issues. Lifeline, which is a homeless charity in Leeds, have teamed up with Dentaid to offer treatment at pop-up centres. Formerly homeless people were able to have dental check-ups, extractions, and fillings, which for some was the first time they had access to any dental service in years.
