Best state for Track & Field? Hmmm... One guess! The NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships open tomorrow at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, aka "Track Town, USA." Texas laps the other states with 64 competing student-athletes. The next two states combined – California (33) and Florida (31) – only give them as many as Texas. www.LoneStarNIL.com The Exclusively TEXAN Name, Image and Likeness Opportunity

Plenty to chew over following the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale which concludes with the remaining Book 2 lots today. Although there were some incredible highlight lots, the overall mood amongst vendors and buyers that I spoke with during and after the sale was extremely nervous and uncertain; the majority of vendors noted this was the toughest sale they had ever encountered, buyers were grateful for a market tipped in their favour - if you had a client willing to spend some money that is. On the weekly The Verdict segment on RSN Racing & Sport, trading as 3UZ Pty Ltd (Radio - 927AM) Racing Pulse this morning, we discussed what Australia's first yearling sale for 2025 could mean for the rest of the yearling sale season, as well as ramifications down the line for trainers, breeders and owners. A weak Aussie dollar means the top lots will attract international buyers seeking high residual investment at a discount price. Major farms - especially those with major commercial stallions on their books - can absorb a market correction to a point, but what if that correction continues to recede in coming seasons? How healthy is the small to medium sized breeder segment and what do those businesses do with stock they can't sell? While wealthy owners continue to invest, what will mid-market investors do? Are Mum and Dad shareholders who propped up the surge in 2022 and 2023 still in the market or is the interest rate squeeze pushing them out? How do trainers approach new season recruitment if owners are minimising risk? What is their appetite to speculate and then sell down horses? Is the client base of your average city stable committed in 2025? A number of participants have been in touch following the segment this morning, these are real questions with incredible significant impacts on real life day-to-day trading of racing and breeding businesses - the levers have been turning for a number of years. These pressure points should shape short to mid-term industry decision making and are just as important as wagering related issues. I've time-stamped the segment for ease of accessibility, would love to hear from owners, trainers and breeders with their thoughts. https://lnkd.in/geakhncH
