?? Behind the scenes of therapy: Sometimes, we therapists lovingly joke about the sessions where clients know the healthy coping skills, but for some reason (hello, being human!), they just don’t put them into practice. In therapy, we explore the “why” behind these moments. Why is it hard to take that first step? What’s holding us back from doing what we know will help? These conversations are where the magic happens, transforming knowledge into action, and action into change. This light-hearted video reminds us all that self-compassion is key. Progress isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up, trying, and staying curious about what works for you.

After trauma, it really helped me to have a therapist who gently highlighted my emotional coping strategies – things such as intellectualising – but totally without judgment. Her approach affirmed my need, at times, to think rather than to feel – because feelings at times were too overwhelming to be able to cope with, and I sought safety instead in a more detached, intellectual approach. She didn't try to change me, but understood why I was doing it. Her total lack of judgment evoked in me a greater sense of safety and also in turn the ability to start to be curious about what was going on in me. This led me to being able to explore alternative ways of engaging with my emotions. Watch this 4-minute video to find out more: https://lnkd.in/eM4KsREw

Looking From The Other Side If the inner child of the person isn't healed, the way they react to confrontation and criticism would be from the mind level of a child - with fear and with no capacity to handle it like an adult. Their confusion and fear are often masked by the belligerent stand they take and the lack of accountability they show. It is an instinctual method to protect themselves from the "grownups". Living the life of an adult with an emotional stagnancy of the unhealed inner child is a constant mental battle. Second guessing and the agitation to thrive takes a toll on a person who has unhealed inner child. Some doable actions to release emotional burdens : 1. Constantly do the inner workings- ?? Observe and note the triggers and your reactions. ?? Practise a set of affirmations ?? I am a strong, compassionate and caring human being ??I am unlearning the unhealthy patterns. ??I am safe. 2 Practise breathing techniques and anchoring. 3. Seek help through trauma focused therapies. 4. Practise self compassion. ?Know you are safe. ?Realise that you are also an adult with healthy choices at hand. 5. Reparent yourself. Through therapy, I have gained invaluable insights, learned to navigate challenges with resilience, and embraced vulnerability as a strength. It is not just about solving problems; it is about understanding ourselves better, fostering healthier relationships, and unlocking our full potential. Let's continue to break the stigma and prioritize mental well-being.
