I had a founder reach out to me recently and ask me how to get in front of a reporter they deeply admired from WSJ to talk about a topic they'd been covering. My response: "You should send them an email and introduce yourself." Within a few days, they had a meeting setup. TLDR: Reaching out to journalists is not something you need someone else to do. Sometimes they don't respond; sometimes they say they don't have time. That's all in the course of doing business. Not everyone is a heck yes. But trust me, they're not malicious people who are out to get you. Their main goal is to share information that's in the public interest, and if you come off as genuine, smart and informed, more often than not they'll want to build a relationship with you.
