?? It has happened to all of us: working on a game, only to be left out of the credits despite promises from higher-ups, for various reasons:
? We were no longer in-house by the end of the project ??
? Names were forgotten to be submitted ??
? Freelancers were omitted, with only the in-house team mentioned ??
? Laid-off during the production ??
? Various mix-ups (?? ??????????, ??’?? ???????????????? ???? ?? ???????? ?? ?????????? ???????????? ????!) ??
??? I've previously emphasized how useful, though extremely time-consuming, it can be to spend a few hours ???????????????? ???????????? ?????? ?????????????? of games you've worked on but were never added to the most comprehensive database in the video game industry.
?? What I didn’t know, and recently discovered to my surprise, is that there’s a way to appear even when you weren’t officially credited.
?? Some time ago, I worked on a rather important game where ?????? ???????????? Warlocs ???????????????????????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ???? ?????? ??????????????.
The Mobygames page had already been created, and of course, ???????? ???? ???? ?????????????????????? ???????? ????????????.
????♂? Months later, I discovered with pleasure that ???? ?????? ?????????????????? ????????????????, with the note “????????????????????” next to our names.
?? After some research, I found on the site's forums that it's possible to add participants to a project even if they aren’t directly mentioned in the credits, as long as proof of work can be provided.
????♀? Obviously, if we are under NDA, there's nothing we can do, unfortunately. But I imagine that many of us (myself included) have titles we can openly mention although left out of the credits.
???? Apparently, with a bit of patience, we can rightfully reclaim our place. And that is definitely better than nothing.
