Is there still #innovation in #Germany? In the past year there was a lot of criticism on the lack of innovation in the industry or innovative companies leaving because other countries offer better conditions for businesses. But HANNOVER MESSE 2024 clearly showed that there are amazing innovators in Germany – from companies that have been around for decades and still come up with disruptive new products to start-ups with creative new ways to tackle industry challenges. Shout out to our client H-TEC SYSTEMS who are taking green #hydrogen to the next level and to our friends at Lapp Group. There are so many hidden champions with industry technology whose solutions are often not visible in the final products but provide the basis for innovative solutions. Who knew e.g. how interesting smart rod end configuration (mbo O?wald GmbH & Co KG) or high-speed turbo compressors (ebm-papst) or industrial security solutions (Pilz) can be. My top takeaways and reminders as a small #fleet operator. 1. ?? Global imperative to decarbonize 2. Infrastructure is pacing issue in EV adoption 3. Misalignment in policy, technology, economics causing industry tension 4. EVs don’t make economic and operational sense for many applications 5. Fleet operators should ask themselves where they could start in their fleets 6. EVs are well suited for return to base operations and last mile applications 7. Light and medium duty commercial EV adoption is growing rapidly 8.
