Lime has rolled into Japan! ???????? Earlier this week, we launched in Tokyo, marking our first time serving Japan. This is a major milestone toward our mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free, as we work to bring micromobility to more cities around the world. We’re so excited to be back in East Asia and we plan to be here for the long term! We kicked off our service at 5am Monday morning, with service in Shibuya, Shinjuku, Meguro, Setagaya, Toshima and Nakano, with plans to gradually expand over time. As covered in Bloomberg, we’re launching Gen4.1 e-scooters and our Gen4.1 Seated, which will add a seated scooter to the Japanese market for the first time. Safety and tidiness will be a key focus of our program, which is why we’re launching with our helmet selfie feature to incentivize safe riding. We can’t wait to deliver a best-in-class service to Japanese residents and begin delivering the benefits micromobility offers, including less traffic, cleaner air, improved convenience when commuting to and from work and emissions-free travel.
