The Rapid has introduced the first fully electric vehicles to its Go!Bus paratransit fleet in Grand Rapids, MI. The 12 new Go!Bus electric vehicles are wrapped in a 1960s “Flower Power” theme, highlighting the agency’s commitment to a cleaner and greener future and aligning with the goals outlined in its Transit Master Plan. “Our decisions in vehicle propulsion and fuel type matter to The Rapid, our community, and our future,” said Deb Prato, SPHR, CEO. “More than 85 percent of our fixed-route fleet runs on renewable natural gas, and the 12 new EVs show our ongoing commitment to decreasing greenhouse gas emissions in our service area.” This milestone was made possible thanks to earmarked federal funding secured by former Congressman Rep. Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, is taking a significant step towards sustainability by integrating more than 280 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Trucks into its service fleet. This initiative aligns with SCE’s goal to transition to a 100% electric light-duty fleet, reinforcing its commitment to reducing emissions and operational costs. This is a huge step forward for wireless charging and for the Port of Long Beach. Wireless charging is an amazing application for environments where electrified vehicles are constantly on the move and require a much more fluid charging solution than the traditional wall or inground mounted charging station.. #InductEv is the ideal partner for the port of Long Beach, given their long history and technology with inductive charging. This right here. This is the playbook. In every industry, not just EVs. The mistake is to focus solely on EVs and ignore all the other industries where it’s also happening. “In the second stage, companies massively ramp up production and push down price, even at a loss, in savage competition with each other and foreign rivals. After a few years of this, the collective capacity typically massively exceeds Chinese demand, leading to the third stage, in which companies push into the global market. By this time, it’s become clear which few Chinese companies are successful and which are the many losers. So in stage four, the government moves to force the closure of losing companies that haven’t already been driven out of the market, Wubbeke said.”
