How can Medicobridge support doctors in Sub-Saharan Africa in transforming healthcare?

???? Workshop Alert! Today marks another significant stride in healthcare collaboration as Malteser International participates in a crucial workshop, alongside the Association of Ambulance Professionals Uganda and the Emergency Care Society Uganda. This collaborative event is organized by the Ministry of Health's Emergency Medical Services Department, with support from the World Health Organization (WHO). The focus of today’s workshop is on the development of operational guidelines for Uganda’s sub-national ambulance committees. These guidelines are designed to create a standardized approach across the country to ambulance referral systems, enhancing our efficiency in emergency responses. We are proud to stand united with both local and global partners in this initiative. Our commitment remains strong towards reinforcing Uganda’s healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that every community has immediate access to emergency medical services when needed. ??Excited to share the results and impact of our work within Health Reform Support (HRS), a seven-year activity funded by USAID. During these years, the project embarked on a transformative journey, steadfastly supporting the development of a resilient and transparent healthcare system in Ukraine, overcoming numerous challenges along the way. ? We are pleased to share a fact sheet that highlights USAID HRS five core objectives and outlines our achievements, including these remarkable milestones: ? ???112 pieces of legislation passed out of 196 developed. ? ???277 trainings and 528 other educational activities reached over 106,300 participants. ? ???122 grants issued, including 69 directly to healthcare facilities, 14 addressing the consequences of the war. ? ???233 war-affected communities supported, benefiting over 5.1 million Ukrainians. ? ???1,366 information and communication materials created and distributed. ? ???139 guidelines and tools developed to strengthen the health system. ? ???700 million views across 28,398 online and social media publications. ? USAID HRS has played a pivotal role in advancing healthcare reform and strengthening the health system, with a lasting positive impact on communities across Ukraine. ? #HealthReform #USAID #Healthcare #HealthSystems #Ukraine

M-Pesa Foundation Provides Free Healthcare Services to Over 3,000 Individuals in Kisii County, Kenya. The M-PESA Africa's Foundation has successfully delivered free healthcare services to over 3,000 individuals in Kisii County, Kenya, as part of its ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes in underserved communities. This initiative is particularly significant given the region's health challenges, which include high morbidity rates due to diseases such as malaria, respiratory infections, and waterborne illnesses. The healthcare services provided during this initiative included general medical consultations, dental care, eye examinations, and screenings for various conditions. Kisii County, located in the Nyanza region of Kenya, has a population of approximately 1.26 million people. The county's healthcare infrastructure consists of various facilities, including government hospitals and private clinics; however, many residents still face barriers to accessing quality healthcare due to factors such as distance to facilities and limited availability of medical personnel and supplies. To ensure effective service delivery, the M-Pesa Foundation collaborated with local health professionals and organizations. This partnership facilitated the provision of a wide range of medical services tailored to meet the specific needs of the local population. #MPesaFoundation #Healthcare #Kenya

They treat patients, manage health centers, and bridge gaps between doctors and nurses, often with the grace of a cat on a hot tin roof. Yet, their roles are as clear as a Nairobi traffic jam—stuck in patient care while their public health potential collects dust. Faith-based hospitals give them a clearer path, but specialists often get demoted to general duties like a sushi chef flipping burgers. It’s time Kenya redefined their roles and showed some love for these healthcare superheroes! Baseline - After 10 years, it's still clear that evidence-based, patient-centered care is the way to achieve holistic care delivery.
