?? Supply Chain Disruptions and the Importance of Resilience ?? As the U.S. faces its first large-scale port strike in nearly 50 years, it’s clear that businesses need to rethink how they approach supply chain management. With 45,000 dockworkers striking at 36 major ports on the East and Gulf coasts, we’re seeing the immediate effects on industries that rely heavily on ocean shipping. At Fashion 5.0?, we’ve long understood the importance of being agile in uncertain times. That’s why we’ve made significant investments in domestic manufacturing and regional sourcing. By prioritizing local production hubs and nearshoring strategies, we’ve minimized our dependence on international shipping routes, allowing us to maintain business continuity even during large-scale disruptions. This approach not only strengthens our business, but also supports the local economy and ensures we can continue to deliver value to our partners and customers. As the strike continues to unfold, we’re proud to be a company that remains prepared, resilient, and focused on sustainable growth in the face of global challenges. ???? #SupplyChainResilience #PortStrike2024 #LocalManufacturing #Nearshoring #AgileBusiness #SustainableFashion #MadeInUSA https://lnkd.in/e7EAWr2K

#supplychain #transportation Is the next port crisis around the corner? It's been discussed for a while now: East Coast ports are up for labor negotiations with the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) as the current contract expires in September. Just a few months ago, surveys showed that many shippers were planning to move peak season cargo up by a month so that they won't be short when those ports potentially close due to the labor dispute. Today nobody is in a hurry. According to the more recent CNBC Supply Chain Survey, this is because shippers feel more comfortable that things are under control, which in turn is because these negotiations aren't making headlines. There is also the fact that East Coast longshoremen haven't been on strike since 1977. They certainly aren't as fickle as their West Coast counterparts. Still, it's amazing to see that when it's not in the news, it's not a concern. If so, wouldn't we be significantly better off just shutting the media down? #truckl #innovation

?? **Supply Chain Alert: Potential ILA Strike on U.S. East & Gulf Coast Ports** ?? With the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) labor contract set to expire on September 30, there’s a risk of a significant strike starting October 1, potentially disrupting more than 50% of U.S. container imports. Many shippers are considering rerouting to West Coast ports, but this isn't an easy fix: - **Port Congestion**: West Coast ports are already busy, and redirecting traffic could lead to severe backlogs and extended wait times. - **Rising Costs**: Shipping rates may jump by $1,000–$1,500 per container, with 10–14 days of additional transit time expected. - **Logistics Strain**: Increased pressure on trucking and rail services will likely lead to even more delays. - **Global Impact**: Alternatives like Canadian or Mexican ports have limited capacity, which could add further time and cost to your supply chain. If your business depends on international shipments, now is the time to assess your logistics plans and prepare contingency strategies. #SupplyChain #Logistics #Shipping #ILAStrike #BusinessPreparedness #PortCongestion
