I didn't get the invitation. I saw them all on social media having a great time and I was p*ssed! If you want to walk fast, walk alone. But if you want to walk far, walk together says Ratan Tata. And I totally agree. "Great experience", "got me thinking how to collaborate", "fantastic format", "I love a leader who is on brand 100% of the time" were just a few of the accolades from Tuesday's collaboration-focused event. It reached heights I could not imagine because the event was actually produced as a collaboration. I was asked to brainstorm ways to deepen connections at a brand-new event. The result? "Values Vista." This initiative was all about strengthening attendee bonds right from the start. As attendees arrived, we invited them to choose a word or phrase reflecting their goal or aspiration for the event, like "Connect," "Learn," "Inspiration," or "Innovate." Next, we captured a Polaroid of them with their chosen word and pinned it to a large display. The photos were organized into categories, making it easy for attendees to see who else shared their goals. To further the conversation, each category was linked to a QR code. Scanning it took attendees to specific chats in our event app, where they could engage with others who had similar aspirations. "Values Vista" quickly became a focal point of the event, visually demonstrating how each person's presence added to our collective story. Feeling connected to both the event and its participants enhances that sense of belonging, a key reason people return year after year.
