The Orange County Fire Authority has officially launched its two new S-70 Firehawks, completed by United Rotorcraft, enhancing the county’s aerial firefighting capabilities. In a demonstration for media and local government officials, the new aircraft were declared ready for deployment by Fire Authority Chief Brian Fennessy. The event highlighted the significant support and effort from the county to strengthen its firefighting resources. The S-70 Firehawks have been in Orange County for several months, during which crews trained extensively to operate the aircraft and perform firefighting missions. These helicopters are now fully operational and ready to be deployed in firefighting missions across the region.
