How many leaders know enough about the people they lead to understand their motives? How many leaders care? I wake up at 6:00 am every morning and work late into the evening to create a legacy for the young ladies in this picture. I remember a meeting I had years ago with the executive vice president I reported to as if it happened just a few months ago. She started the meeting with conversation. As I responded to her, she abruptly stopped me to say, "Lenwood, I don't care about your dog." The polite conversation was just a strategy to get to her objective. How many of us have experienced this situation? How many leaders only pay lip service to company leadership principles? Earlier in the week, I shared an article about workplace happiness. Environmental factors account for 80% of happiness for people over 30. Before the pandemic, employees' critical environmental factors were a sense of belonging within an organization and among coworkers, flexibility, inclusivity, and a sense of purpose. Of course, compensation is a factor when it comes to workplace happiness. But people value money differently. A dramatic change occurred during the pandemic, however. Whether or not a manager is supportive has become the most significant predictor of happiness - nearly twice as important as purpose, the next most highly ranked factor. Based on the research, leaders can do a lot to impact happiness in the workplace. As organizations adapt to digital transformation, focusing on fundamental leadership principles should take center stage. Little moments mean a lot. So, what motivates you to do what you do? #digitaltransformation?#digitalculture?#employeeexperience?#hrexecutive?#learninganddevelopment?#futureofwork?#innovation?#culture?#digitalorganization?#socialcapitalenablement?#collaborativelearning?#peoplefirst?#teamwork

I wish more leaders that like you. ?? Lead with trust and empathy, always!
Really enjoyed reading this Lenwood M. Ross . For me it is purpose , when you find that there is little more motivation you need. Then bring empathy and you can achieve amazing things.
What a handsome family Lenwood
A good friend summed this up many years ago and it has stuck with me: 'Life is made up of but a few moments'. Thanks for sharing Lenwood.
