Here's how I organise my social media content every week in 4 steps (with examples): Let's make this quick and easy ???? (1) WHAT do you want to be known for? You won't know what to write about without knowing: → What's your business goal? → Who do you want to speak to? → What do you want others to perceive you as? Knowing what you want to achieve will help you create relevant content that'll help you get there ??? If you want to be known as a go-to person for social media updates, you *most likely* won't post sports updates for Liverpool fans. (2) HOW will you communicate your words? You need to keep your posts balanced - and that's what content pillars are amazing for! Content pillars = key themes/topics you want to communicate with your audience ?? Without content pillars, your content can be: → Inconsistent: you'll post when you feel like it → Unbalanced: you'll either "sell sell sell", or don't sell at all. → "YOU-focused": you will produce content for you, not your audience And sadly, all of the above will either stop you from growing (or worse, make you frustrated with social media). (3) Spread types of content you want to post across the week Keep your content relevant and messaging consistent ?? Steal my favourite content pillars (spread over the week): → Monday - Share a little bit of my story → Tuesday - Educate others about social media → Wednesday - Build credibility by SM client wins → Thursday - Build trust by sharing my SM processes + how I work → Friday - Community-focused short-form post See how varied, yet social media-specific, each day is? I explained my client about crossposting. My client is an agency owner. He makes websites and his work is visually appealing. He wanted me to write for him on LinkedIn. That's how we started working on his Social Media. He started making videos and I suggested he post the same videos on Instagram. But was that enough to grow on Instagram? Sure, some videos can be used for most of the platforms but every platform has its importance and what works for that particular platform. I suggested him to create content for Instagram because his work is all about visuals. As I have done for 3 years, we planned that I would prepare a strategy. So this is what we decided: - Instagram strategy would have content that works on that platform. - Hoping on Instagram trends - Value-added content in his niche - Client testimonials/ Transformation videos He was already posting once a week. Why was creating content for him necessary on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts? - Posting the same content on all these platforms is alright because they are similar social media platforms. - These platforms are famous for creating videos and their business revolves around visually appealing videos where he could show his work. -This would get him more business and creditability. -As one doesn't know where their target audience belongs and you aren't aware of who is watching your content. -Having an online presence on these platforms will increase his chances of getting clients. I’ve only posted 3 times on Instagram this week and look at the RESULTS! ?? I used to "wing" it on social media, posting every single day. Yet, I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. I was attracting the wrong audience and feeling burnt out. Then I started using this simple checklist to plan my content: ??Does this solve a problem for my ideal client? ??Is this valuable enough to save or share? ??Is it relatable and relevant to my audience? ??Is this the right content type for the platform and my brand? Consider using this checklist to create your next round of social media posts and see the difference it makes. It’s great to have a consistent posting schedule but it's not a substitute for a well defined approach to your social media. Your content isn't "bad," it just needs a better strategy. P.S.
