?? IN THE STRENGHTS WE TRUST There are 30 of us, we've been together a long time... and each of us is different. Some are full of ideas, others are more likely to finish them. One likes harmony, one prefers to learn, and one actively develops relationships. I'm talking about the #competition team at HAVEL & PARTNERS. We have been actively involved in an internal #Gallup #strengths development program. Under the guidance of Daniel Soukup, we all filled out extensive questionnaires and experienced a half-day workshop together. ? Why? Because we believe that each of us is strong in something different and that the strength of the team lies in this diversity. That our clients benefit from that. ? It's like in football - you need different types of players to win. A great scorer, a brilliant playmaker, an honest defender, reliable goalie... You can't win a game without that diversity of talents. History shows that a team made up of football superstars often fails because it lacks this diversity of strengths and team spirit. It's the same in legal profession. So we got to know our strengths and talked about them. To realize them, to continue working with them together and to use them effectively. We think that it is better to actively work with our strengths than to try to change things that we don't have the talent for or don't desire to do. Of course, we don't stop anyone from working on their weaknesses and improving, but we don't force them to do so. It is better to use and develop strengths. And we all have many those. One of the many highlights of my time at Snyk occurred this week. I had the good fortune to be moderating Snyk’s Forward Thinking Speaker Series and our guest was Ruth Buscombe Divey ?? . Ruth’s journey in Formula 1 is nothing short of inspiring. Hearing how she handles high-pressure situations with a blend of data and instinct was fascinating, and the parallels to what we do at Snyk were spot on. At Snyk we are empowering the world's developers to develop fast and stay secure. To deliver on our mission, we are focused on continuous innovation at all levels of the organization. Ruth shared a few important insights from her time in F1 and they are worth sharing! ? Greatness comes from adaptability: Everyone can be great on their best day, but what about on their worst day? Even when things go wrong the best drivers adapt to the situation and deploy their talent.? ? Resilience in action: Treat “pressure as a privilege”. In F1, as in tech, it’s all about turning challenges into opportunities for growth. ? Data meets instinct: “Gut decisions” are the result of years of data and experience. It’s a reminder that our instincts are often informed by all the work we’ve already put in. ? Tailored leadership: Understanding how each FI driver processes information differently was such a great parallel to how we can lead our teams more effectively.
