In 2024, the demand for skilled professionals in the tech industry continues to surge exponentially. According to recent studies, the projected growth of tech-related job roles for HBCU graduates is set to increase by over 30% in the next five years alone. This signifies not just an opportunity but a call to action to equip our HBCU students with the tools they need to thrive in this digital era. At the forefront of this movement stands Skilldora, a trailblazer in providing microcredential-accredited online courses tailored to the unique needs of HBCU students. By offering accessible and relevant educational opportunities, Skilldora is bridging the gap between aspiration and achievement, empowering students to unlock their fullest potential. Day 3 take away from the Global Inclusion Schools Forum in Paris. Slight delay on this one as wanted the weekend to reflect on a busy 3 days in Paris. My takeaways are: 1) There is a place for assistive technologies in the education sector on the condition that both users and teachers have the right level of support to be able to not just use it, but use it in a way that works for them and that can benefit the whole class and not just the individual. 2) In my discussion panel, as the representative of Nisai Group, I focused on the use of Quillsoft Ltd. WordQ and how, with scaffolding around the learner, it can support and improve the independence, confidence and self-esteem of learners, all elements that can improve engagement. With greater engagement comes greater chance of academic achievement. 3) There is best practice being used around the world to support inclusion and no one country has all the answers. Things will change through collaborative work and discussion, but most importantly action. 4) The education systems around the world, in many cases are creating the biggest obstacles to inclusive and equitable education. 5) #allmeansall Inclusion is about embracing diversity and seeing it as a positive and not as a problem to be solved. That said, to be truly inclusive and to be able to provide equitable education to all, there are barriers to overcome and challenges to be resolved. Change will not happen overnight but without belief that things can change and the motivation to action this change, things will not move forward. Last week, we hosted an engaging webinar titled "Women in Education Leadership," where we dove deep into the unique challenges encountered by Black and global majority women as they navigate the path to leadership. We unpacked a range of topics related to recruitment, retention, and promotions underpinned by DfE and NFER data. We also discussed how allies can actively support marginalised groups, advocate for inclusivity, and challenge systemic biases to promote fairness and advancement for all. ?????????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???????? ????: 1?? ???????????????????? ?????????? ???? ???????????????????????? ????????????: Limited access to career progression, stereotypes and bias, lack of representation, and double standards can significantly hinder advancement for Black and global majority women in education leadership. 2?? ?????? ?????????? ???? ????????????????:?Effective allyship can help to combat discrimination, create safe spaces, promote inclusion, and contribute to broader social change. 3?? ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ??????????????:?To ensure a sustained pace of change in educational leadership, it is imperative that we create frameworks that ensure fair treatment and opportunities which particularly focus on eliminating barriers that have historically disadvantaged Black and global majority groups. Today, on World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, I want to celebrate the richness of our diverse world and reflect on the crucial role of diversity and equity in higher education. At University of the People, we understand that embracing diversity is not just a moral imperative—it's also a strategic advantage. I'm a believer that diversity fuels innovation and fosters more inclusive learning environments. When students from different walks of life come together in classrooms and virtual spaces, they bring with them unique insights that enrich discussions, challenge assumptions, and inspire creative solutions to complex problems. We also believe that diversity and equity go hand-in-hand. Youth who participate will have incredible opportunities to have their voices heard! One of them is to plan the FIRST EVER NEPA Youth-led Conference. It costs $500 to send a student to this conference in 2025 for 3 days. It's an experience of a lifetime. We need your help to send 300 students to this conference. Every dollar matters! There is a tremendous opportunity to engage young people through service-learning and community-based programming like the YLAB Board (YLAB) Program. Young people need to have a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose. Education ought to be student-centered, authentic, engaging, incorporating multiple intelligences, motivating, generating self-esteem, and intrinsic motivation. The current policy driving our system of education does not allow for this form of learning. By working with teachers, parents, business leaders and the community, we have an opportunity to strengthen relationships between youth and adults. We also have a unique opportunity to ensure youth decision-making within the organization by having them identify and define issues, share their concerns, and develop plans and strategies that would benefit the community-at-large, especially by promoting racial harmony and cross-cultural understanding through diversity, equity, and inclusivity. #youthconference #youthprograms #youthempowerment #sdgs #g17 #DEI #mentalhealthawareness #youthleadership
