Workplace relationships - amongst employees and with their organization - are crucial for fostering a highly engaged workforce. But building these connections can be more challenging in a virtual environment and is a major driver of the 11-year low in employee engagement, particularly amongst younger workers and remote employees. That’s why Tracy Brower, PhD ’s “Top 5” list on increasing employee engagement resonated with me. Proximity: This concept helps us understand how workplace relationships form and influence organizational dynamics. To maximize its benefits, we should be deliberate about scheduling regular team and cross-team interactions, even if they're occasional. ??
