Celebrating Rich Walker's (Director of IT) Pending Retirement in New Windsor After a remarkable journey in the building industry that began on his family farm in Northeast PA, we were honored to celebrate Rich Walker's pending retirement and the legacy he leaves behind. Rich’s father, known as “the builder” in their community, inspired Rich’s first steps into the field after a 1973 fire transformed the family business from farming to construction. In 1976, Rich joined 84 Lumber’s management and development program, leading the Pennington, NJ store and opening the West Springfield, MA location. In 1985, he moved to Curtis Lumber, eventually leading IT initiatives that transformed operations company-wide. Over 28 years, he rose to Director of IT, bringing innovation and efficiency. Recruited by the PAL co-op in Grand Rapids as Manager of Information Systems, Rich oversaw the technology portion of PAL's merger with ENAP to form LBM Advantage. Over the last nine years, his leadership in technology operations, policy-making, and dedication have set LBM Advantage on a path to continued success. Thank you, Rich, for your years of vision, commitment, and inspiring contributions to our industry. Wishing you all the best as you approach your official retirement in January 2025. #retirement #lumberandbuildingindustry #thankyou
