Had a great meeting with Vivek Sinha, Global Head of Sales, AI, and Automation at Infosys, in snowy Boston. Fascinating discussion around all things #AI. Here are my key takeaways from the discussion: 1) Now, a significant portion of AI budgets extends beyond the CIO office. Therefore, the providers who will succeed are those capable of directly selling to the business side of the enterprise. 2) Reverse engineering is a good way for enterprises to predict and work towards an AI-centric future. Block-by-block, Conceptualize the various business functions of a new-age firm, free of all past baggage. For example, how would the HR function shape or evolve into something else, and then how would a roadmap be developed to achieve it? 3) The new provider workforce will have to become 'problem finders' in addition to being 'problem solvers' to stay relevant. 4) AI has the potential to exponentially increase (rather than decrease) providers' toplines. In spite of all the new AI advancements and leading software companies embedding AI in their applications, the core work of a provider, which is integrating and configuring these disparate technologies across different enterprise departments, is stronger than ever. However, the mindset needs to be more innovation-based rather than delivery-oriented. More firms across sectors are expanding their footprint in India — and tech talent is in demand. AI and data science firm Tredence Inc. on Wednesday announced that it will increase its headcount by 60% by mid-2025 and hire 1,500 new employees,?Ashutosh Mishra?reports for Business Standard. Co-founder and CEO Shub Bhowmick shared on LinkedIn that the company is expanding its footprint with new offices in Pune and Kolkata, and upgrading its facilities in Bengaluru and Chennai. The company will recruit for data science, data engineering, data analytics, MLOps, LLMOps, Gen AI, and marketing analytics, among other roles, adds the report. US-based Glean Technologies Inc has also set up its first office in India and plans to triple its headcount to 450 at its Bengaluru centre, The Economic Times reports, citing founder and CEO Arvind Jain. The firm will hire for roles across software engineering, AI, ML, finance, legal, and marketing, among others. French pharmaceutical company Sanofi plans to invest ?3,600 crore over the next six years to expand its global capability centre in Hyderabad. It aims to double the centre's headcount to 2,600 employees over the next two years. The company will hire software engineers, data analysts, product engineers, and scrum masters, said Emmanuel Frenehard, Executive Vice-President and Chief Digital Officer. Panasonic Avionics Corporation this week opened its new facility in Pune to develop and deliver in-flight entertainment and connectivity solutions. Whenever I travel from Mumbai to Pune for work, I always make sure to publish my ride on a ride-sharing app. One of the main reasons I do this is that it provides a great opportunity to network with fellow IT professionals, engage in interesting conversations, and gain insights into their perspectives on current affairs. Plus, it helps reduce pollution, allowing me to do my part for the environment! During a recent ride, I had the chance to travel with three engineers from different backgrounds: a Data Engineer, a Software Development Lead, and a QA Automation Engineer. Interestingly, all three of them asked me the same question: “???????? ?????? ???????? ???????????????? ???? ????? ???? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????????????? ?????????????” My response: “AI isn’t going to replace all humans in information technology, but its adoption is increasing rapidly. Back in the day, I used to search for code snippets on platforms like Stack Overflow. Now, tools like ChatGPT and other AI platforms can provide the same solutions much faster. However, writing custom business logic and functionality still requires human expertise.” ???????? ???? ??????’?? ???????????????????? ????: ? Live troubleshooting ? Write bespoke business logic ?
