Please join Scott Postma next week for the Hope@Home National Virtual Conference for homeschooling families hosted by Jamie Buckland and WV FUE, Families United for Education. Scott will be speaking on How to Leverage Technology and Prepare Your Children for a Life Worth Living. When it comes to technology, the key word here is "leverage." In our modern technological age, parents often struggle to effectively navigate the use of technology in their child's education. On one side, there is the ditch of "huddle and cuddle," viewing technology as a danger to avoid. On the other side of the path, there is the ditch of "acquiescing to the inevitable tyranny" of technology. So where are the boundaries and what are the guidelines? Hint: the answer lies partially in first adopting a proper educational philosophy i.e., education must be accomplished for the right purpose—preparing our children for a life worth living. Register at https://lnkd.in/gfYrBe32 (if you can't make it to the live event, you can receive a copy of the recording) #Hope@HomeVirtualConference #wvfue

We'd like to thank Crain's Detroit Business for publishing this impactful op-ed on Michigan's #education system written by our President and CEO, Ronald E. Hall, and 42 North Partners, LLC founder, Mike Jandernoa. Both are executive committee members on the Business Leaders for Michigan board. Here's a preview of the editorial: "Our K-12 public education system is not doing right by our kids. The crux of this crisis is unfolding in our own backyards. A new analysis comparing #Michigan public school district performance against peer districts in top-performing states shows that nearly every district isn’t keeping up with the competition. From the Upper Peninsula to the southern corners of the state, and from suburbs to rural communities, Michigan students are trailing their peers. Without a strong educational foundation, Michigan will continue to struggle to grow, and our children will lose out on what we all want most for them — opportunity." One common argument against #SchoolChoice and #EmpowermentScholarshipAccounts in Arizona is that families will lose access to student accommodations if they opt out of public schools. This narrative is simply FALSE. Before making such claims, it's essential to hear from families who are benefiting from these choices and understand the reality. Parents utilizing #ESA funds actually gain access to a wealth of resources—assessments, therapists, treatment modalities, curriculum, and more. Whether they choose homeschool, microschool, or charter school options, they avoid the delays and gatekeeping often encountered in public schools, ensuring their children receive the necessary support and accommodations. At Hayes Resource Group, we collaborate with families year-round to ensure their children receive the required accommodations within the public school system. Parents are frustrated with being disregarded, told their children don't "need" services, or made to feel incompetent. They're often forced to pay out of pocket for services that schools are funded to provide, causing their children to suffer while they fight for an equitable education. School choice is a right, a freedom that every family should have. In Arizona, ESAs offer a vital tool and opportunity for parents to provide their children with the education best suited to their needs. #HRG understands all aspects of school choice and remains committed to advocating for parents' ability to select the best educational path for their children.
Demand for special education options is at a record high. ?? How does school choice equip families to find the best possible solution for their students? Fox Business Network | Corey DeAngelis #SchoolChoice #SchoolChoiceNow

Hey everyone, we have a webinar coming up on October 29th that I'm excited to share with you: Last school year, Timely partnered with two Dallas County (Texas) school districts -- Mesquite Independent School District and Richardson Independent School District -- along with The Commit Partnership, an incredible nonprofit focused on improving educational outcomes in Dallas County. Through this partnership, Mesquite and Richardson were able to: -Develop more efficient special education staffing allocations: staffing plans significantly reduced the risk of inevitable hiring needs driven by either teacher attrition or an influx of new students. -Improve delivery of special education instruction: thanks to a more optimized schedule, learning specialists aren't stretched across content areas, allowing teachers to better support student learning needs. -Save a ton of time and hassle: in addition to the staffing and instructional improvements, school-based schedulers saved, on average, 50-100 hours of scheduling per campus, significantly streamlining and simplifying the process. Come join us to hear directly from their district leaders about the importance of strategic scheduling and their partnership with Timely! And we will soon be releasing a white paper that will showcase these improvements in efficiency and instructional delivery!
