The panel begins around 28:26, and it's an insightful exchange about homeless response systems between organizations from across the country. Topics include collaboration between community partners, response organizations, and federal, state, and local government bodies. It features deep conversations around homeless prevention, long-term and short-term supportive housing programs, data-centered approaches, and compassion and dignity as guiding perspectives for offering services to neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Recently, SAMMinistries' President and CEO, Nikisha Bronson Baker, was invited by the Bipartisan Policy Center to discuss San Antonio, homelessness, and how collaborative work within our community creates local success. The event "Learning from Local Successes in Addressing Homelessness" can be found online here (the panel begins at 28:26): https://lnkd.in/gM6DWGfT "We've seen in our community a large consensus and collaboration around addressing the issue of homelessness. In fact, our local city conducted a poll of residents of the city where they said the number 1 issue they faced was homelessness, which they wanted to see addressed. This allows an opportunity to leverage not only federal resources that may be available but also state and local resources in a collaborative way."
