Today sees the launch of my latest challenge: The December JOY Challenge. And what better way to start it than with this wonderful crew supporting Michelle O'Dwyer ‘s Christmas Day Community Dinner fundraiser. ?? Link in shared post xx Festive JOY Challenge ?? Day 1: December JOY Challenge ?? This will harness the power of positive psychology with daily prompts to boost your well-being and foster a joyful mindset but also, come on you know the drill, ensure that, no matter how bleak, how dark, how cold or wet it is for this month of December, we are lacing up, getting out and moving our bodies. Every. Single. Day. ???? I’ve used the word JOY for this one as an acronym to guide your journey through the three key areas of this challenge. ?? J = Journaling & Reflection Take a moment to reflect on something that brings you joy right now. What’s one thing that has recently made you smile or feel grateful? Write it down and take a mental snapshot of that positive feeling. Better still snap and share it here. And don’t forget the usual 1-2-3: 1:win 2: character strengths used 3:gratitudes DAILY ?? ??♂? O = Outdoors & Movement Get outside for at least 20 minutes of movement. Whether it’s a walk, jog, or simple stretches in nature, the fresh air and physical activity will help boost your mood and energy. ?? Y = You-Inspired Media Consume something that uplifts or inspires you today. Whether it’s a motivational podcast, an uplifting book, or a favorite TED talk, or this week’s RISE episode where we talk about the power of social connection with Michelle ODwyer from the accompanying reel and let it spark positivity and set the tone for your day. Let’s make this December a month of reflection, movement, and inspiration. We need court-watchers to help us better understand Cook County's eviction courts and advocate for tenants! For the first phase of our research-and-advocacy project on eviction, we are asking court-watchers to virtually observe 2-3 eviction court calls and fill out a quick online survey.
