?? Call to Action for Nevada folks! ?? (scroll to bottom) Nevada BOP is stepping up BIG TIME and taking action on the results of the survey they conducted! ???? I believe this is the first concrete proposal in the nation for safe staffing requirements in community pharmacy. Take a look: https://lnkd.in/gsVcjuBC What are your thoughts on their safe staffing levels, and why? While we may all have varying opinions on what constitutes a safe staffing level, the fact that this draft has been set forth is a monumental win for communities and their pharmacies. This proposal was not made blindly by corporate executives, this was in direct relation to responses from Nevada pharmacists working on the ground right now. ACTION: If you are in Nevada, please attend the BOP meeting on 5/29 to make a public comment (they typically give you 2 minutes). Whether it is in support or to suggest an amendment, **showing up is the only way we get to solutions.** We are the change we’ve been waiting for. Don’t just yell from the stands. Get in the arena. We’ll be right beside you. #TogetheRx #ThePharmacyGuild #SafeStaffingNow #Pharmacists #CommunityPharmacy #PizzaIsNotWorking
Tiny but mighty: About last year, I had the pleasure of meeting with a member of the Nevada Pharmacy Alliance . We discussed the somber realization that the well being index for pharmacy professionals from American Pharmacists Association and National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations revealed that Nevada was amongst the very bottom states. So in our discussion, I proposed a survey; gathering data about the pharmacists and letting that data tell a story and hopefully bring changes. Fast forward this year, this pharmacy association ( which is novice by the way), in collaboration with their board of pharmacy have done something spectacular and truly impressive. While those proposed changes will definitely be challenged and will need some major compromises, this is an association and a board that is listening to the despair of their pharmacists. And no, this association does not have nearly enough chain memberships as it should and if you are in Nevada, this is your moment to step in. But I have said this before…. while I can absolutely and will always advocate for memberships and stress the importance of it, I can also show that there are associations out there, that are doing what they can to advocate for all pharmacists in their state regardless of their membership. It is doable in more ways that you can imagine if you are willing. Yes it sounds harsh. It sounds mean. It is not meant to be. But it is the truth that in many states, community chain pharmacists do not get supported by their state association. Please ponder on that. If you are in Nevada, Please make that you submit your public comments before May 29th. Bravo Nevada! https://lnkd.in/g7hUKQJ6
