Organizations, including the military, can only absorb change to a certain extent. That is until the change agent crashes against a monument. The wars in Ukraine and Gaza not only exposed the seismic chasms in the Russian military but also in the US and western militaries. Ukraine had to reinvent warfare as they were facing invasion. Someone on a career path of growth cannot afford to be told, “Is this the hill you want to die on?” It is a colossal waste to send a subject matter expert on process validation only to have a local yokel question the need for MVPs and OQs. There is a difference between learning new ways of doing things versus questioning basic principles. You don’t want to send someone’s soul to die in a toxic and reactive culture. Startups and freelancers are not tied by those chains yet must constantly reinvent themselves. The borg keeps absorbing these startups and chewing up and spitting out true agents of change. You can fire a person, or shoot down a drone. You cannot stop an idea or the dawning of a new age. Six years ago, I worked with a government official, providing them with exceptional service. Fast forward to yesterday, when that same official remembered exactly who I was and welcomed my team with open arms. They even gave us a tour of the military installation and trusted us with 7 truckloads based on the strength of that relationship. ?? This experience speaks volumes about the importance of building and nurturing meaningful connections. It’s not just about transactions or deals—it’s about trust, integrity, and consistency over time. Relationships like these are built on the long game, and they pay off in ways you can’t predict. To all my fellow professionals, never underestimate the power of relationships. A perspective worth considering.

Some States are not true States. They must be shaped, structurized , forged , consolidated and streamlined, with solid institutions and resilient organizations, managed by credible and educated persons. So far, we can avoid or reduce the final count down, and several regional wars, covering the WW 3 - World War Three.

What makes a nation into a global superpower? My original hypothesis was 1) Great leaders 2) Great innovators building world-class companies 3) A strong military Turns out, I was completely wrong. After talking to political economist Michael Beckley, an expert on what makes a nation a superpower, and reading half a dozen books investigating superpowers of the past, I have come to realize that none of these three things matter most.
