A week today we’ll be hosting the latest in our series of MPs Question Time events sponsored by Woodland Group.?In the run-up to a General Election - and with many economic headwinds still prevailing - there's never been a more important time to ensure that Doncaster’s politicians are appraised of the challenges and opportunities facing your business. For those that have attended these events in the past, I’d also note that we will be giving it a bit overhaul, based on your feedback, to emphasise interactivity and be less reliant on pre-submitted questions. Hopefully, this subtle reboot will produce more spontaneous discussions and give you more of a chance to have your say. ? On that note, I’ll personally be facilitating this session and will asking the attending politicians one question only before then going to floor for direct input from the business leaders in the room.?We’ll also be asking attendees to contribute to a few anonymous polls on the day to ask how delegates are feeling about what they’re hearing and what’s going to influence their voting intentions. Despite the understandable frustrations that we all have with politics from time to time, the more businesses that attend events like these, the louder our collective voice is.?If you’ve not yet booked on, get your voice heard by signing up here: https://lnkd.in/ePRVPdpq. Words from the wise?? Just wrapped up an incredible webinar with the one and only, Matt Lofy. Matt dropped some serious knowledge about the million-dollar question every business is asking: "How can we be more engaged with the community?" Matt nailed it when he said, "I think that's the million-dollar question for a lot of organizations. What is the engagement we want within our community? But certainly narrowing that scope of where do you find that cross-section of purpose and mission to really find where you want to go directionally with that community engagement?" As someone who's passionate about fostering genuine connections, I couldn't agree more. Community engagement isn't just a buzzword—it's about aligning your purpose and mission with the needs of the community. It's about showing up, being present, and making a tangible impact. If you missed our webinar, don’t worry! You can still catch all of Matt’s wisdom. Head over to our BrandTalks? page and get a copy of the webinar straight to your inbox. ?? A New Chapter for the Northport Chamber of Commerce! We're proud to be featured in the latest article from the Long Islander this week for our work with the Northport Chamber of Commerce. It was extremely rewarding to read first hand the impact our work has had on the Northport business community. . Read an excerpt of the article below! . The Northport Chamber of Commerce has made significant advancements in integrating social media and technology to improve outreach and communication for the community’s residents and businesses. Under the leadership of President Cary Bianculli, elected in Jan. 2024, the organization has shifted from a laxed approach to Instagram and Facebook to a more proactive one, where engaging the community has become a top priority. . Bianculli, who is also the director of marketing and membership at the Northport Historical Society, spoke about the biggest challenge for the board being a “lack of information.” As a non-profit volunteer-based Chamber, the board faced difficulties in reaching members the community, particularly amid the isolation caused by the pandemic. . In response to this challenge, the Chamber collaborated with Driven Media, a marketing company owned by Northport High school alumnus Jack Ebert. Driven Media offered guidance on leveraging social media and digital platforms for event promoting and community outreach. Cary added “The best spend was to have someone manage the socials.” The Chamber’s Instagram and Facebook accounts now serve as vital resources for community questions and spotlighting local businesses. . The Chamber’s website has also been upgraded to provide information on the events taking place in Northport, contact points, and opportunities for becoming a member. . With over 200 members and growing, the Chamber hosts monthly networking events designed to facilitate connections between business owners and residents. Outside speakers like economists or accountants are brought in to provide insights on budgeting, tax strategies, and economic trends. Member businesses also receive promotion through the website, further amplifying their visibility to the community. .
