How lighting can make or break a space (and why it matters in photography). Lighting is everything when it comes to capturing the essence of a space. In this case, six skylights directly overhead played a pivotal role in how I approached the shot. The best time to photograph this room was when the sunlight was directly above, casting visible highlights that showcased the skylights as the focal point of the space. The way light interacts with a room can transform its mood and tone—whether it’s creating warmth, emphasizing design features, or adding depth to the scene. In architectural photography, understanding and using natural light to its full potential is key to telling the story of the space.
