Well, there’s a surprise ?? Did you know that 54.72% of all website traffic to private practice hearing care websites across 2023 was from people under the age of 45. This is just one of the many things that we discovered when we reviewed the big picture data that from our 60+ members websites (consisting of private practices across the US and Canada) based on over 700,000 visitors. What does this mean? It suggests that the person researching you is rarely the patient themselves, but more often the son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter of the patient. The question is, knowing this, what are you doing to target your messaging and your website experience towards them? #audiology #hearingcare

IMCAS & quality of life of a MD A change of generation, a change of societal paradigm? But at the end of the day, who is the loser or the winner or none of the above? Do those who work like the devil suffer from a sense of injustice or from not having dared to do so in their day, faced with younger generations who no longer see their profession as a priesthood? Can we think that practising more is practising better? What's a doctor's life without a passionate practice? Do the younger generations fear burnout before its time? But do patients feel that their doctor is less available or even less involved? One thing is certain: while the time that doctors are present and available in terms of gross working hours has fallen, nobody seems to have seen the need to increase the numerus clausus to cover demand, especially in certain countries with ageing populations. https://lnkd.in/e4HVVCCy

Let me tell you, Hugues, that I partly agree with you. Still, we find ourselves (especially my Baby Boomer generation, who have gone through all the changes and had to adapt to them) and the new Young Doctors having a problem generated between commercialism and family life with all the benefits, work, and knowledge. Mercantilism manages medicine today, and its grip on the field is concerning. As long as this is not changed, and the scientific thing is more important than the business of the companies, it will continue to rule; it also generates a terrible condition for medical education, companies, laboratories, which pay doctors to go to a congress, courses,?that is, they give them a coffee and sandwich, and that's it, that doctor learned what the company wants, the most severe thing is that the doctor does not know what it is to invest in knowledge, Everything must be accessible and given by the companies.? cont....

https://lnkd.in/esB-n9kV As an “Older Doctor” who trained during a time when becoming a physician meant putting your patients’ needs above those of your loved ones, embracing personal sacrifice, and espousal of unhealthy habits to survive the rigors of medical school, residency, and private practice, I applaud the author of this article, Te-Ping Chen, for highlighting the cultural shift in which younger clinicians protect their physical, mental, and spiritual health and put their families first. Female physicians who trained during my era felt extra pressure to prove themselves and often made more sacrifices than their male counterparts.?Sleep deprivation, irregular eating patterns, and lack of time for exercise kept me from performing at my best – as a physician, wife, mother, and daughter.?As such, much of what occurred during medical school, residency, and early practice is a blur, a fuzzy memory, or a faint recollection. Simon Sinek’s statement is true: “Putting yourself first is not selfish.?Quite the opposite.?You must put your happiness and health first before you can be of help to anyone else.”?As healthcare leaders, we must applaud clinicians for using their vacation time, taking maternity or paternity leave, calling in sick when they aren’t able to perform at their best, going to part-time or PRN status when their family needs warrant, and saying “no” when administrative burdens take the joy out of practicing medicine
