I wouldn't normally post a link from the Daily Mail as a large proportion of its content is fiction, froth and invective but worth reading to see that Boris Johnson hasn't changed one iota. Takes no responsibility himself for the extreme unpopularity of the Conservative party and while he might be right that Labour's majority is built on sand, his, it seems, was built on hot air as he did precisely nothing for voters in so called "Red wall" seats. And if he was a bit more curious he'd see that the 2024 election saw the centre left parties (Labour, LibDem and Green) extend the lead in terms of share of the vote over the right that they already held in 2019 (despite his 80 seat majority). For the purposes of this comparison, I have excluded the Nationalist and NI parties and independents. 2019 Labour 32.1% LD 11.6% Green 2.6% TOTAL 46.3% Con 43.6% Reform 2.0% (Brexit party) TOTAL 45.6% 2024 Labour 33.8% LD 12.2% Green 6.8% TOTAL 52.8% Con 23.7% Reform 14.3% TOTAL 38.0% So a definite shift to the centre left though not a seismic one and what the results in terms of seats won show is that the centre left parties worked the current electoral system to their advantage. Boris Johnson of course is correct that Reform split the Tory vote in many constituencies but that's as likely as not to happen again next time unless the Conservatives tack further to the right which could split the party and strengthen the LibDems. Labour's party managers should be looking at the result and recognise that the best way to keep the right out of power on a long term basis is to introduce PR even if that means working with the Greens and LibDems. Sure, it may allow a lot of Reform MPs to sit in parliament but on the opposition benches.

I'm enquiring into what it is "we" want. Notice the "we" in quotation marks. I'm not placing "we" in quotation marks to get all ironic or anything. Nor is this the "royal" "we", notorious for an "I" ("I" being a tech billionaire, a George Washington, a Sun King, or any other "I" speaking in the name of "I" but, in the style of megalomania, confusing "I" for "everybody everywhere", or in pronound form, "we". I have tended to assume when a "we" comes up in the important, foundational, documents of the USA, it isn't ironical, nor is it "royal"-- in intention! "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." See, that... This is the preamble of the US Constitution. The dang thing starts with a "We". Not a wee wee, but a "We". (The "we" here is capitalized, but that's because "we" is at the beginning of the sentence. Not because it is putting on airs, or being a royal, such as Lady Di.) "We", is of "We the people", meaning the people! We know what people are, and it is self-evident people can be a "We" without the "we" being ironic or over-reaching, or royal. I bought into this logic, or was it rhetoric, then (I was around six years old at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis)-- but now? I don't see anything in the US Constitution stating we MUST -- no matter what-- no matter how unsettled and uncertain-- have an election. It isn't elections regular and boring and mechanical as clockwork WE, "We the people" want. We want, "a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity." I used to find Kamala provocative. A bit of an agitator, having reached a remarkable height, and coming from California, (always a boost, with all those electoral votes, doncha know. More than are given to Jamaica, or even Puerto Rico.) A prosecutor. I didn't find Donald Trump provocative, or cute, a ladies man, or an athlete, or a good business man, or even a hustler. When I learned he'd penned a book, "Art of the Deal", it was only my cynicism, despair, frustration, anguish to have not found LOVE which made me think I should read Don's book, and take notes. I wouldn't mind it if we had a big powwow. I suggest at a decrepit steel mill in Youngstown, Ohio. Don will be there, and maybe Putin, too. Sarcosy will be there, and Macron. We have to have Biden there, with Hunter, and Jill. Melonia and Baron. We have to have Bibi, and Zelenski, with Pope Francis. It will be the miracle of loaves and fish, and I don't mean fish which sandwiches, or the bisquits Colonel Sanders thought yummy.

I hope the Yoorrook Justice Commission and all Australians are watching the Australian Labor Party in parliament. Yesterday (16 May 2024) in parliament, the Australian Labor Party and the Liberal Party of Australia joined together and voted against the Senate declaration that #whistleblowers are important and protections need to be enhanced as a matter of priority, to recognise that whistleblowers as important to Australia - https://lnkd.in/grJjJ45a . Please give that some thought. Because the Yoorrook Justice Commission, a truth telling commission, is fundamentally a whistleblowing commission. How can the ALP reconcile between supporting whistleblowers, but not supporting whistleblowers? Aboriginal nations are being manipulated by politicians. Labor cannot be both for truth telling, but against whistleblowing. They are the same thing. ==> I hope the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is watching. We are trying to find a pathway to develop our nation in this country, including via an Aboriginal truth telling commission. The threat we face is that it is infiltrated by Marxists from the Australian Labor Party who have every interest in subverting Aboriginal sovereignty for political purposes, and no interest in telling the truth. These are very serious matters that also affect the United States and the ambitions of the American People. Because part of the cover up by Marxists in the Australian Labor Party, the Liberal Party of Australia, and our security services, is the truth about our Frontier Wars, including a century of capacity building partnership with China before the rise of the Chinese Communist Party. The use of these national secrecy laws is blocking Australia from having a conversation with the Chinese Government and with Chinese people more generally that could lead to peaceful reunification between China and Taiwan based on recognition of common ground - our hundred years of partnership before Taiwan and China split.
