As the CEO of CheckProof, I witness firsthand how companies within the construction materials and aggregate industries positively contribute to local communities. It's incredible to see the tangible impact these companies have, from supporting local schools and sports clubs to investing in sustainable practices that benefit the environment. And don't be confused - it's not me on horseback ?? , I've stolen this video from my colleague, Maria Lingberth, who recently shared her daily ride along the ridge with a view over the Heidelberg Materials Ballast Sverige quarry in Ledinge. She also shared how their staff at the quarry made a GREAT impression when they went to her stables to inform them of the planned blasting that was to take place. Although we know this is mandated by the permit, it’s good to see how these routines are meticulously followed and how great their interaction was when speaking to quarry neighbors. This to me is a common example of not just the operational excellence but also the community-focused efforts these companies typically undertake. It therefore is extra interesting to read a recent article in Pit & Quarry magazine, discussing the ongoing efforts and challenges aggregate companies face in improving their perception within local communities. The article highlights the importance of promoting the industry's value effectively. And it’s likely true that much of the awesome community work being done possibly flies under the radar.
