#1 Today I start a challenge for myself I named #30days30nudgets. On each of the next 30 days, I will write a short post unfolding a phenomenon, observation or story with a behavioural element I came across in the world. Why? - you might ask. First, because I have long been struggling to get myself to write more regularly. We all know the daunting feeling when we can't get ourselves to sit down and put our thoughts on paper - often because the job seems too large and we are afraid that it's not going to be "good enough" at the first try (of course not). By breaking it down into small posts, and forcing myself to write every day, I use a simple but often advised tactic: taking one small step at a time without the pressure to create something big and perfect. This makes the thought of "writing" more mentally accessible and resourcefully feasible. Second, because by publicly committing here on LinkedIn I apply a so-called commitment device on myself: I lock myself into this plan by risking losing face if I do not follow through with my plans! This ensures that today's Krisztian's plans to improve in writing and share short thoughts about the world will be acted upon by tomorrow's Krisztian as well. :) Third, because I hope these short nuggets will spark interesting conversations that can only benefit all of us - me definitely by bouncing my thoughts off you. But who knows if it will work - after all, that's the point of this whole experiment! #30days30nudgets #behaviouralscience

I engaged myself twice in a year long Insta project. The first was everyday a morning picture plus a one sentence #brandwisdom. It was a true journey. The second was dailypoem plus a picture. I did it with my friend and I need to admit he was much better in writing. So keep it up, it will be a great journey. Also for us.

Good thinking Krisztian. A number of years ago I ran 5 miles every day for a full year ('everyday, come what may') and used a similar strategy I called the 3 S's: Make it Specific (5 miles every day, rather than 'go out running more'). Make it Social (I told all my connections on Facebook and committed to posting evidence of each day's run.) Make it Special (I was raising funds for my friend's daughter who has Cystic Fibrosis.) The positive side effect of this approach is that it successfully builds strong habits: I still run most days, almost 6 years later! You might find yourself on a Nudgets streak that goes on way beyond the 30 days - before you know it you will have written your first book! :)

Not even the founders of LinkedIn can find a post anyone makes after 3 hours, let alone 30 days! :) You want a pre-commitment device, tomorrow's Krisztian owes me coffee for every day you skip. Jokes aside, I look forward to reading them! Keep it up.
