**Dispelling the Myth: Bodybuilding Stunts Your Growth** Many parents worry that strength training, particularly bodybuilding, might stunt their children’s growth. This concern arises from the belief that lifting weights could exhaust the body or interfere with growth hormones due to increased testosterone levels. Fortunately, this myth has been debunked. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, there is no clear evidence that strength training negatively impacts growth in children. As long as kids avoid harmful supplements and steroids, which can have adverse effects, engaging in bodybuilding or strength training is safe. In fact, proper strength training can benefit children by improving their physical fitness, coordination, and overall health. So, parents, rest assured that encouraging your kids to lift weights responsibly won’t hinder their growth. Strength training, when done correctly, is a positive and healthy activity. #FitnessMythBusted #StrengthTraining #HealthyGrowth #BodybuildingFacts #YouthFitness #FitKids

Where should your baby sleep? This question often stirs controversy. Co-sleeping, which includes room sharing and bed-sharing, promotes breastfeeding and infant development. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) supports co-sleeping up to a year but warns against bed-sharing due to risks of neonatal deaths and SUID. However, the American Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) revised their protocol to support bed-sharing under specific conditions (no smoking, no prematurity, no sofa, bed on the floor, and breastfeeding). Always practice safe sleep methods, be open with your pediatrician, and follow guidelines if you choose to bed-share. I get lots of questions about white noise: is it safe, will it damage my baby's hearing, and will my baby become addicted to it? When should I stop using white noise with my baby/child? So here are the facts; + The American Academy of Pediatrics has researched the effects of white noise numerous times and said they found no detrimental effects to babies' hearing or development. (maximum recommended volume 60 decibels). + Yes, babies do become reliant on white noise to stay asleep and to go to sleep. But...this is easily solved by turning the white noise machine down a little each day over a two-week period until it is barely audible, then just switch it off. I recommend white noise to all the families I work with unless I am working with a child over the age of two who has never used white noise before. Do you have any questions/concerns about white noise, DM me or comment below, #whitenoise #whitenoisetosleep #babiesandwhitenoise #sleepingbaby #sleepenvironement #sleephygiene #sleeptherapist #sleepconsultant

I’d like you to meet Clarice...she’s my daughter’s favorite bedtime stuffy! ?? Did you know that a comfort item like Clarice can be a game-changer for your toddler’s sleep routine? ? Many toddlers naturally gravitate toward a favorite stuffy, blanket, or toy during bedtime or naps. These items can make a big difference during transitions—like moving to a big kid bed or adjusting to a new sleep environment. Comfort items help ease bedtime anxiety, soothe fears, and create positive sleep associations. Over time, your little one will connect their chosen item with feeling safe and ready to settle down for a good night’s sleep. ???? ? Important Note: Most comfort items shouldn’t be placed in your child’s sleep space until they are over 12 months old. The exception? Pacifiers! The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) considers them safe for babies under 1 year. Does your child have a favorite comfort item? Share their story in the comments—I’d love to hear about it! ??
