With a Ph.D. in Regional Development from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Dr. Grozeva possesses deep expertise in economic development and policy-making, particularly in the context of regional transformation, notably in the fields of hydrogen energy and sustainable development. Dr. Grozeva leads the dedicated to the hydrogen mobility GH2M project (INTERREG Europe) and is a part of the ZAHYR Hydrogen Valley initiative, which focuses on leveraging hydrogen technology to enhance regional sustainability and economic growth. Her efforts are pivotal in advancing hydrogen as a cornerstone of Europe's green energy future. Cenex, as a key contributor to the project, led real-world vehicle trials, oversaw hydrogen-powered forklift simulations, and played a pivotal role in disseminating knowledge. The outcomes of HyTrEc-2 extend beyond trials, fostering large-scale hydrogen production facilities in Aberdeen and the Northern Netherlands. On September 5 and 6, Latvia will host the European Hydrogen Valleys Investment Forum 2024, bringing together around 170 participants, including 30 of the most promising new businesses, 40+ investors, and top industry experts. ?? This event will be a meeting place for investors and innovators, marking a significant milestone for Latvia and positioning the country as a key player in the global hydrogen landscape. ?? Latvia’s strategic location, growing influence in the hydrogen sector, and investment-friendly environment make it the ideal venue for this transformative gathering. Among the pioneering projects driving this momentum is Fokker Next Gen, which is set to make Latvia a central hub for hydrogen-powered aviation technology by developing a green energy cluster on the Kurzeme coast and a final assembly line in the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (LSEZ). ?? Dutch company Fokker Next Gen is embarking on an ambitious project to create hydrogen-powered aircraft capable of carrying 120 to 150 passengers on journeys up to 2,500 km. The total planned investment could exceed €1 billion.?This initiative will generate up to 100 new jobs in Latvia over the next three years, with close collaboration from Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University) and coastal municipalities in Kurzeme. ??
