I spoke with an awesome candidate yesterday, this person has a history in engineering, but in their most recent role, shifted from engineering itself to a customer interfacing/sales function. They found a passion for working with people, and bridging that gap between the engineer and the customer. It was a good reminder that we should never be afraid to follow our instincts. Just because we have started down a certain path, doesn't mean we have to walk the straight and narrow. And this doesn't always mean leaving the trail you are on and starting over somewhere else. Often times, we find a path that veers slightly off of the path we are walking, but leads us in a very similar direction, with only a slightly different viewpoint. More than anything, it was a reminder that it's OK to follow the heart, even if your mind (and the world around you) tells you differently. The mind it programed to survive, and this is often associated with some form of a safety net. Don't be afraid to bypass that safety net, it's often where growth can be found. **Lastly, if you are interested in speaking with someone who can bridge the gap between your engineering team and the customer, I'd love to introduce you to this person. Yesterday, I had an air compressor sales engineer tell me. ? “ My key to being a top performer in every sales position that I have had is being organized. ? I know who to follow up with ? I am on time with appointments. ? I keep track of all of my maybes. ? The maybe’s just don’t know me well enough yet to buy anything. ? I build my relationships by showing that I am a professional .” ? Not only did I meet a killer- but I met a true air compressor sales rockstar. ? I also received sound advice from a professional And how to apply it to my business. ? Recruiting is about making connections to the best in their lane. ? I have learned some tips daily from? ? By understanding both engineering and sales, they can tailor solutions to meet specific customer requirements and concerns, driving both satisfaction and sales. These professionals not only often work closely with engineering teams to ensure that the products align with what customers need and expect, but also supervision of the technical and commercial procedure carefully to settle any conflict. They also gather and relay customer feedback to engineering teams to drive product improvements. Therefore, they help in crafting compelling value propositions that resonate with target audiences. Sales and marketing engineers also play a crucial role in creating and executing marketing strategies that highlight the unique features and benefits of their company's products. Additionally, they may provide technical support during the sales process, addressing any concerns or questions that arise. Their role often involves market and competitors’ analysis, professional product and services’ presentations, and demonstrations, where they can highlight the technical advantages of their products. By combining technical ability with strategic marketing skills, sales and marketing engineers help drive business growth and build long-term customer relationships and this role should be known a significant key role to improvement the industrial manufacturers businesses, reginal economics, provinces economics, and a country economics.
