As the A2SV | Africa to Silicon Valley 2024 AI for Impact Hackathon draws to a close, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude. ???? A massive shoutout to my incredible teammates—Anteneh Addisu, Natnael Desalegn, Tinsae Daniel, and Samson Demessie. Together, we embarked on a mission to revolutionize agriculture through disease control. Our project aimed to empower farmers by identifying crop diseases and shortages, offering practical solutions. While we didn’t make it to the semifinals this time, the journey itself was a victory. The late-night coding sessions, brainstorming marathons, and camaraderie—all of it fuelled our passion for impact-driven innovation. ?? In the last 2 months I've participated in 3 hackathons?? Here are the results: 1. Deep Dive was my first hackathon ever. We had to create a go-to market strategy for the medical start-up. Unfortunately my team didn't manage to qualify for the second round but it was a great learning experience which assisted me in the next challenges. 2. Next came the Talent Vantaa Hackathon by Business Vantaa where my team tackled the space industry (totally new to me!) for ReOrbit – and we won! 3. The last challenge was from Solve the SDGs hackathon organized by Aalto Ventures Program and Junction. We built a digital tool to analyze extreme weather for Sweco, making it into the top 5 in the peer review! Feels like I found a new hobby! Already waiting for the next challenge... ??
