Below are some typical ways to address the problem, as well as how relays cause challenges for engineers: Solutions: 1. Replacing Relays: When encountering intermittent relay faults, many engineers choose to replace the relays in the affected area. This is the quickest solution, particularly when under production pressure. However, this approach often has two major drawbacks: ? Resource Waste: Sometimes only a few relays are faulty, and replacing all relays in a section can result in wasting fully functional relays. ? Temporary Fix: The intermittent relay issue may not solely be due to relay aging. It could also involve design, testing procedures, or environmental factors. Therefore, replacing relays may only be a short-term solution, and the problem could reoccur. 2. Increasing Testing Standards: Some engineers may add additional testing steps to evaluate relay performance, especially performing more preventive checks before production to prevent faulty relays from entering the test system. Although effective, this method can increase testing time and production costs. 3. Using Automated Testing Equipment: With technological advancements, some companies have developed relay testing devices that can detect potential relay problems before they cause failures, reducing downtime and low yields caused by relay issues.
