It has been an opportunity of a life time to be accepted to the course of Vernacular Architecture YACademy. I'm super appreciative of the spaces created- to have spent 3 days in the Gesch area near the border with Switzerland learning and workshopping the Vernacular ways of building- using stone in the Italian Alps. This sparked a further conversation about what does it really mean to build sustainable and then to live in "sustainable" architecture. Sustainable housing also requires a change and adaptability of lifestyles, as well as focusing on the construction details of building / restoring vernacular homes to live in today.
