EARLY VOTING OPENED TODAY ACROSS ALL 50 WARDS IN CHICAGO AND YET 63% OF CHICAGOANS WILL WALK INTO THE BALLOT BOX SURPRISED TO SEE SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES ON THE BALLOT! As an Academy for Local Leadership Inaugural Fellow, I had the honor of collaborating with Sendhil Revuluri & Jesus Ayala Jr. to make the ALL ACCESS: Chicago Board of Education & Election Candidate Guide! This nonpartisan guide was created because we wanted to not only ask the candidates the right questions that actually center student outcomes and we also wanted to create it so the community could be armed with the information they needed to exercise their most powerful tool for change - their vote. This guide is the start of a conversation. Being civically activated to vote is only one piece of the puzzle. Voters must make a commitment to being? engaged in the collective work of accountability that happens once those elected board members take office! We hope you find it useful, and that you’ll share it with your social, professional, and political networks — and anyone who cares about Chicago’s future. https://lnkd.in/gWKbMQT7

Cool, it's just the Klein ISD school board election, no big deal, right? It's a huge deal! Running for a seat on a school board, HOA, city council, or as a county administrator has more impact on our daily lives than does a Presidental, Senatorial, or a Congressional election. Are you the voter who will head to the polls to cast your deciding vote for President of the United States and then just thumb your way through a bunch of "never heard of them" only to give your vote away like filling out a lottery ticket on a Friday before the drawing? If that's the case, then remember Benny R Kinsey, Position #4, Klein ISD School Board of Trustees :) If you want to know what I stand for, just read it on my website, www.vote4benny.com Local elections MATTER. Transparency MATTERS. Interaction MATTERS. These elections impact our neighborhoods, the roads we drive, what is taught to our kids, and determine the local tax rate on a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread, or the price of gas in our car. Where does our local tax money go? How it is used and how is it audited to ensure what we give is used only for its intended purpose? Pay attention to your local election races, learn your candidates, identify their passion and if it's in line with your values, then go vote for them. If they aren't willing to tell you the "why" for their candidacy then vote for the one who will. Are you registered to vote? If not, click on my website below for current Texas voter information. If you do not live in the Klein, TX area then consider supporting my campaign with a small donation for yard signs, banners, etc. Every penny will only go toward the campaign. https://lnkd.in/gcmCFSqr
